CUBZZ eco-friendly SHAMPOO BAR "Easy Grip" 85g

(0 review)

Washing without a bottle

Liquid shampoo is mostly water in a plastic bottle. This bar is not that water - just the shampoo itself, in solid form. Round, with a hollow underside, so it sits perfectly in your hand and follows the shape of your head.

  • Saves water and plastic - one bar replaces up to 3 bottles of shampoo
  • Lathers and rinses out just like the shampoo you know
  • Coconut oil and shea butter for softness
  • Biodegradable
  • Handmade in Brussels by Savonneries Bruxelloises, royal warrant holder

Ordinary shampoo works like a detergent: it dissolves the oily film on your scalp. That cleans - but that film is also your natural protection, and after years of it your scalp is used to being stripped daily. A solid bar does it differently: it cleans thoroughly and hygienically while leaving more of your own protective layer in place. Your scalp settles into that quickly, for most people within a good week. The Easy Grip makes that step the easiest. It contains a mild plant-based surfactant - an ingredient that lets oil and water mix, so the bar lathers and rinses out just like the shampoo you know. That is why we offer this one as a shampoo bar, and the Easy Hang - which is pure soap - more as a combined shower gel and shampoo.

How we calculate this

This bar replaces 3 bottles of 250 ml of liquid shampoo or hand soap. That number comes from the producer itself.

3 bottles x 20 g of plastic per bottle = 60 g of plastic that was never made.

Estimate: those 20 g per 250 ml bottle are an estimate. See 'Source' for what it rests on and why we deliberately count low.

Source

How many bottles a bar replaces: stated by the soap works itself — Easy Grip up to 3 bottles, Easy Hang up to 5, Easy Scrub about 3 bottles of hand soap. We count a 250 ml bottle each time.

Liquid shampoo is about 80% water. Savonneries Bruxelloises itself says up to 84%. We deliberately take 80%, because a bar contains water too (Aqua is on the label). That keeps our own claim on the low side.

Why liquid shampoo is mostly water

20 g of plastic per 250 ml bottle. Estimate: we found no public figure for this. The only hard data point we have is a 500 ml bottle weighing ~32 g. A bottle's weight roughly follows its surface area, not its volume, so a 250 ml bottle comes out at ~20 g. We are not inventing a source for that: weigh an empty shampoo bottle yourself and you have the answer. As soon as we know the exact figure, we will adjust it.

Why this matters

Plastic does not disappear. It breaks into ever smaller pieces and stays in our soil, rivers and sea for centuries. Every piece of packaging that is never made is the only plastic guaranteed never to wash up anywhere.

Concretely: this product replaces 3 plastic bottles that never have to be made, filled, shipped or thrown away. A bar needs none of that.

This comparison is only here to make the number tangible. It is an illustration, not hard science.

By choosing an IMPACT product you avoid all of this. That does society, today and tomorrow, an enormous service and makes a big positive difference to the future of us all.

How we calculate this

The 3 bottles this bar replaces are mostly water.

Liquid shampoo is about 80% water. Per 250 ml bottle that is 0.2 litres: 3 x 0.2 = 0,6 litres of water that never had to be bottled and driven around.

Estimate: a bar is not entirely water-free itself. That is why we count 80% rather than the 84% the soap works quotes. See 'Source'.

Why this matters

Fresh water feels obvious as long as it comes out of your tap. But an ordinary care product is mostly water in a bottle: you are buying and shipping water above all. A solid bar is not. The 0,60 litres this product saves is about 1,2 half-litre bottles of water.

This comparison is only here to make the number tangible. It is an illustration, not hard science.

By choosing an IMPACT product you avoid all of this. That does society, today and tomorrow, an enormous service and makes a big positive difference to the future of us all.
